I was in the mood for a home cooked meal and stir fry came to mind. I ventured over to Wal-Mart to pick a few items and saw shrimp on sale for $5. I picked the shrimp along with the chicken breast for the stir fry.
Here's what you'll need:
- Thin Sliced Chicken Breast
- Shrimp
- Vegetables ( I used Carrots, Broccoli and Scallions)
- Rice
- Soy Sauce
- 1 Lemon
- Black Pepper
- Salt
- Butter
Directions:
1. Place your rice in a pot to boil on medium heat.
2. As you rice is boiling you can begin to slice your vegetables and clean them as well.
( If you have extra vegetables you can place them in a freezer bag in the freezer)
3.Once your vegetables are sliced and clean, you can begin to slice your meat.
4. I sliced my meat into chunks and seasoned the meat as well. I did seasoned the shrimp as well. (Seasoning consisted of Black Pepper, Salt, Lemon Juice, Sweet & Sour Dipping sauce)
6.Once my rice was boiling, I turned the heat down on low.
7. I used another pan to steam the vegetables with soy sauce and butter for about 10 minutes.
8. I then added the shrimp and allowed it steam with the vegetables.
9.My chicken was cooking in another pan and once it was done, I then added chicken to the pan of
ingredients.
10. When the rice is done you can then add it to the other ingredients.
11. The art of Stir Fry is STIRRING! I then stirred all the ingredients together and added Soy Sauce. I did squeeze lemon over the rice to add more flavor. ( With help of my amazing su chef)
12. After all the ingredients are stirred together place the heat on low and allow the rice to steam by placing the top over it.
13. After about 5-7 minutes your stir fry shall be done!
Final Product
I decided not to slice the left over the chicken breast and just use it as a side dish. I want to thank my amazing boyfriend for helping me with this meal and photography.
